Our client is a global leader in security-related services for banks, retailers and a variety of other commercial and governmental customers. They provide a cash-for-cash service and were faced with an increasing demand for change orders from their customers. They had a manual process to accommodate these change order requests, requiring the client to phone customer service during business hours to request the change. This process was cumbersome, time consuming and affecting customer satisfaction. 

Our client was particularly focused on their retail customers, and turned to SMAC Apps for help developing an online web service which could be used 24×7 to create and execute cash-for-cash change orders. The solution needed to: 

  • Enable customers to place orders on demand. 
  • Allow customers to easily change their order (delivery date, denomination, frequency of delivery, etc.). 
  • Provide detailed order status information. 

SMAC Apps’S SOLUTION 

A customer facing website was needed to enable retail customers to place change orders, modify existing orders and obtain detailed order status information. SMAC Apps created a highly intuitive user friendly web application that interfaces with the client’s cash management system through the use of custom built APIs. The application was built using the .NET 4.0 Framework. The solution included a custom built reporting solution using Crystal Reports to provide detailed order status information to retail customers and client personnel.

Our web portal solution streamlined the order/change order process significantly, providing increased efficiency and accuracy. Our client was able to satisfy the customer demand for cash-for-cash change orders by enabling their customers to quickly and easily place and change orders. A premier international law firm with a diversified business practice needed an IT Custom Solution – a system that would provide trust auditing services to one of their clients. 

The client needed the capability to examine and evaluate whether claims were accurately processed and approved for payment by a third party processor based upon predetermined criteria defined by the Trust. 

The new system needed to: 

  • Provide the law firm and client with the ability to review, assess, evaluate and, if necessary, edit claim data. 
  • Audit several types of claims: Payment Requests from the Trust to the client for payment of claims; Pre-established Claims sent from the Trust to the client for confirmation of payment; and Processed Claims which were processed by the Trust and required an audit by the client. 
  • Audit claims to identify systemic failures to comply with payment criteria and identify what claims should be approved / not approved. 
  • Store all documents related to claims in an electronic format for easy retrieval and maintenance. 
  • Restrict access to claim data based on predefined roles. 
  • Generate the reports for the processed batches of claims.

SMAC Apps designed and implemented a system that: 

  • Enabled the electronic data import and storage of basic claimant information and related supporting documentation from multiple data sources. 
  • Contained a complex set of business rules and backend logic to determine claims eligibility. 
  • Presented an intuitive and easy to use interface for claim review and audit management at different levels (basic review and assessment to advanced review for claims evaluation). 
  • Provided data editing functionality to allow data to be edited and added when required. 
  • Provided the ability to generate standard and ad hoc reports using a list of data fields from tables.

  • Directed the customers on the use of the mobile app – how to receive offers, access history, check the previous offers received, etc..   
  • Allowed easy management of the beacon devices placed in the stores and to quickly add items as required. 
  • Contained easy to use applications available on iOS stores and Android for customers.   
  • Presented an intuitive and easy to use interface and dashboard for understanding complex data to provide analytics on customer buying behavior and trends.   
  • Provided support services and a comprehensive user guide for any assistance regarding the use of this technology.

Our client built a better promotional system to enhance customers while staying within a limited budget, helping to reduce marketing costs. Promotions were able to be quickly adapted to help reduce over stock on given items, and quickly introduce new items to customers.
