A premier international law firm with a diversified business practice needed an IT Custom Solution – a system that would provide trust auditing services to one of their clients. 

The client needed the capability to examine and evaluate whether claims were accurately processed and approved for payment by a third party processor based upon predetermined criteria defined by the Trust. 

The new system needed to: 

  • Provide the law firm and client with the ability to review, assess, evaluate and, if necessary, edit claim data. 
  • Audit several types of claims: Payment Requests from the Trust to the client for payment of claims; Pre-established Claims sent from the Trust to the client for confirmation of payment; and Processed Claims which were processed by the Trust and required an audit by the client. 
  • Audit claims to identify systemic failures to comply with payment criteria and identify what claims should be approved / not approved. 
  • Store all documents related to claims in an electronic format for easy retrieval and maintenance. 
  • Restrict access to claim data based on predefined roles. 
  • Generate the reports for the processed batches of claims.

SMAC Apps designed and implemented a system that: 

  • Enabled the electronic data import and storage of basic claimant information and related supporting documentation from multiple data sources. 
  • Contained a complex set of business rules and backend logic to determine claims eligibility. 
  • Presented an intuitive and easy to use interface for claim review and audit management at different levels (basic review and assessment to advanced review for claims evaluation).

A multinational major financial services company needed a simple and easy way to collect information for their budget planning cycle. A solution was needed to collect and collate program and project data from various business units for budget planning and project prioritization purposes. Business planners needed the ability to input program and project data, collate the data and generate reports that enabled the area and domain leads to view the information from a central repository to make informed decisions. 

The Client required a solution capable of: 

  1. Collecting the program/project information via a SharePoint form and store the data in the database. 
  1. Generating reports that ranked programs and project by ROI. 
  1. Performing basic form validations (data types, project number (unique) etc). 
  1. Supporting multiple roles with a basic workflow that enabled teams to enter specific projects and areas leads to review and provide updates, and approvals.

SMAC Apps leveraged its knowledge and experience with IT program management and user interface design to create a solution that captured the key data points required to enable the area and domain leads to quickly assess and make decisions on the proposed programs and projects. 

The solution consisted of a simple landing page, program/project input forms and a reports screen. Team leads entered program and project information into a form that performed basic validations (data types, project number (unique) etc). Domain leads were then given the opportunity to view, assess and edit the data as required. To satisfy the level of transparency and security required by the client, all business planners were granted view only access to all input forms & the reports dashboard – drill down to individual project reports was privileged based. The reports ranked programs and projects based on predetermined criteria that were configurable to allow the tailoring of the criteria to meet the changing needs of the business. All reports were exportable to EXCEL, PPT and PDF.

Our Client is a national institution of Certified Public Accountants, and required a high level IT solution to collect and consolidate financial accounting data of over 600 companies and other financial entities for publication in their monthly journals. Prior to automating this process, our Client collected relevant data manually from various sources. They then manually input the data into a database. Lastly, their writers and editors manually accessed and processed the data to form tables, charts, and graphics in account trending reports. 

Not only was this manual process costly, arduous, and inefficient, but the manual workflow was also prone to various human errors. Our Client needed a Custom IT Solution providing greater efficiency and accuracy – both of which could best be provided with an automated solution. 

Specifically, our Client required a solution capable of: 

  • Capturing, consolidating, and classifying financial data based on complex business rules

A multinational major financial service company needed to upgrade and unify the operating system for their computers. They operate in 6 locations across the globe with multiple business partners around the world. The requirement was to migrate over 1700 virtual and physical systems to Windows 7. The process would need to physically locate and migrate multiple platform types to Windows 7 across all sites in a specified time frame. 

The process would require:

  • Strict adherence to federal and international banking and securities guidelines.

SMAC Apps utilized high level BPM techniques to manage the multi-platform migration process, an intense hands on approach was needed to successfully meet the deadline. SMAC Apps provided staff for physical and virtual migrations as well as desktop support for post migration issues. All staff had to pass rigorous background checks. SMAC Apps team members were at all locations across the US and overseas as needed for the volume of migrations at that location. 

SMAC Apps began by rebuilding and simplify the process using SMAC Apps and Microsoft technologies to meet the strict regulatory requirements. Reporting processes were streamlined and consolidated to create a more cohesive and valuable metric. 

A variety of software needed testing and reconfiguration in conjunction with the client onsite IT team. Appsense was utilized for profile management. Troubleshooting and reporting procedures were developed for orphan or limited use applications. 

Processes and procedures were developed and adhered to for the various migration formats which included physical desktops and/or laptops, hardware to FlexPod, and FlexPod to FlexPod.
